Eni resumes Venezuela's Junín-5, targets 200,000 bpd by 2028 ROME, Oct 28 (Reuters) - Italian energy group Eni ENI.MI said on Wednesday it had restarted production at the supergiant Junín-5 oil field in Venezuela, aiming to boost output to 200,000 barrels per day by 2028.
• Junín-5 field, an onshore heavy oil reservoir in the Orinoco Belt, contains 35 billion barrels of certified oil in place.
• Eni is the sole operator of the project.
• The project involves the restoration of abandoned wells and an intensive drilling campaign, the company said.
• The restart follows a new production-sharing contract signed on September 2.
• In Venezuela, Eni also runs natural gas projects including the Perla field through a joint venture with Spain's Repsol REP.MC.
