Eni says it is not part of a consortium aimed at acquiring former ILVA steelworks MILAN, May 27 (Reuters) - Italy's Eni ENI.MI is not part of any consortium interested in acquiring the country's former ILVA steelworks, a spokesman for the energy group said, denying media reports.
Eni is only engaged in commercial discussions to assess potential gas supply arrangements for the steel plant, the spokesman said.
Newspaper Domani reported earlier on Wednesday that Eni had submitted a proposal to buy steelmaker Acciaierie d'Italia (ADI), formerly known as ILVA, in a consortium with Italian firm Arvedi.
