    POLITICS
    The only way to facilitate a peace deal between Russia and
Ukraine is helping Kyiv to defend itself militarily, Italian
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni told parliament on Wednesday.
    Meloni also said her government is planning to raise a limit
on cash payments from the current level of 2,000 euros 
($2,014.80), amid opposition complaints that the move would
benefit tax cheats and money launderers.
    ECONOMY
    ISTAT releases October consumer and business confidence data
(0800 GMT) and August industry sales data (0900 GMT).
    ENERGY
    Italy needs to rewrite its windfall tax on energy companies
that have benefited from surging oil and gas prices, Prime
Minister Giorgia Meloni told parliament on Wednesday.
