Czech central bank leaves countercyclical buffer rate for banks unchanged

PRAGUE, Sept 11 (Reuters) - The Czech National Bank decided on Thursday to leave its countercyclical capital buffer rate for banks at 1.25% and said analyses indicated households, businesses or banks were not taking on excessive credit risk or debt.

The bank said it based its assessment on the level of the buffer rate on current economic developments, the position of the economy in the financial cycle, and the banking sector's resilience to a potential economic downturn.

"The Czech economy has moved further into the expansionary phase of the financial cycle and the estimated level of cyclical systemic risks remains stable," the bank said in a statement.

"Economic growth and credit growth are being accompanied by an increase in real wages, good profitability of non-financial corporations and relatively low growth in corporate and household debt."
