April 30 (Reuters) - Erste Bank Polska EBP.WA reported an over 40% drop in its first-quarter profit on Thursday, slightly ahead of analysts' expectations, in a first earnings release under its new name.
Net profit fell to 1.03 billion zlotys ($282 million) in the quarter, above a Reuters poll forecast of 1.01 billion but down from last year's 1.73 billion zlotys, as the lender weathered pressure from falling interest rates and a higher corporate tax rate.
