Australia's Essential Metals hits 2-month high on lithium project progress

** Shares of Essential Metals Ltd  ESS.AX  gain as much as
19.2% to A$0.435, highest since Nov. 14, 2021 
    ** Lithium and gold explorer says new lithium targets to be
tested via air-core drilling at its Pioneer Dome Lithium Project

    ** Says drilling to follow up on lithium anomaly at mineral
resource known as Dome North located in the northern area of
project
    ** Adds drilling on track to be completed by mid-February
    ** Stock on track for a fifth straight session of gains
    ** More than 8.8 mln shares change hands, compared with the
30-day average volume of about 2.5 mln shares
    ** Stock has risen 87.2% this year, as of last close
