PARIS, April 28 (Reuters) - Franco-Italian eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica ESLX.PA looked at investing in Italian hearing aid maker Amplifon AMPF.MI in the past, CEO Francesco Milleri said on Tuesday.
"We monitor almost everything that happens within our world, so we also looked at Amplifon," Milleri said when asked if EssilorLuxottica had considered taking part in a hearing aid maker's capital hike.
"Then they (Amplifon) made different choices, just as we monitor M&A transactions around the world, and we will continue to do so through acquisitions", the CEO added.
Speaking at EssilorLuxottica's annual shareholders meeting in Paris, Milleri also said the hearing aid sector "will be one of the biggest growth areas we will have."
