U.S. stocks opened lower on Tuesday, as investors turned
skeptical of the chances of a breakthrough in the U.S.-China
trade talks, while a flattening U.S. yield curve raised fears of

    At 9:45 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was
down 0.57 percent at 25,678.88. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.44
