PARIS, Aug 8 (Reuters) - Below are company-related news and
stories from French and Benelux media which could have an impact

CAC 40 futures FCEc1 down 0.96 pct at 0637 GMT
GEMALTO GTO.AS
The digital security company that makes SIM cards for mobile
phones and biometric passports will buy U.S.-based data
protection specialist SafeNet Inc for $890 million in a move set
to boost its earnings and reach. ID:nL6N0QE14U
Gemalto expects the deal will close in the fourth quarter
and enable it to beat by around 10 percent its 2017 target of
profit from operations of 600 million euros ($801.60 million).
VIVENDI VIV.PA
Telecom Italia TLIT.MI is in talks with the French media
group to acquire its Brazilian broadband unit GVT and trump a
recent bid from Spanish rival Telefonica TEF.MC , sources
familiar with the situation said.
The plan, which could be finalised over the next three
weeks, envisages a counter-bid by Telecom Italia for the
Brazilian unit, GVT, followed by an equity swap that would allow
Vivendi to acquire a stake in Italy's biggest phone operator,

The nationalised Franco-Belgian financial group reported a
smaller net loss for the first half of 2014 compared with the
same period last year, as it benefited from lower funding and

The Franco-Dutch airline said passenger traffic rose 1.9
percent in July, led by long-haul flights to Asia and the
