Eutelsat drops on 'surprising' new CFO appointment

** Shares in French satellite operator Eutelsat ETL.PA drop 3.4% after the group appointed Sébastien Rouge as its new CFO

** Rouge joins Eutelsat from Imerys on February 1, 2026, replacing Christophe Caudrelier

** "A bit surprising to see him go literally weeks (days?) before the rights issue," says Bernstein analyst Aleksander Peterc, adding Caudrelier was "well-appreciated"

** The group expects to complete its capital increase of 1.5 billion euros by year-end

** "General perception is Christophe has done a good job in relatively complicated circumstances," the analyst adds

** Up to the previous session's close, shares were up 47.5%​ YTD
