Exicure slumps as internal probe delays 10-Q filing

** Drug developer's shares  XCUR.O  fall 21.5% to 84 cents
premarket, set to dip below the $1-mark for the first time in
three weeks 
    ** Co says late Monday it is unable to file its
September-quarter form 10-Q report (https://bit.ly/3oQyCWT)
    ** Says notified about "a claim made by a former company
senior researcher regarding alleged improprieties that
researcher claims to have committed" related to co's drug for a
rare genetic disorder 
    ** Says its audit committee has retained an external counsel
to conduct an internal investigation about the claims 
    ** XCUR says requires additional time to complete certain
disclosures and procedures, including disclosures relating to
the internal investigation
    ** Stock has fallen nearly 40% YTD
