POLITICS
Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Sunday that
she may water down plans to make it easier to settle small
payments with cash rather than cards, following talks with the
European Commission over the issue.
Italian Industry Minister Adolfo Urso denied in a Saturday
interview with Corriere della Sera that the government was
planning to fire the CEO of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP)
Dario Scannapieco, as reported by other media last week.
ENERGY, ENI ENI.MI
U.S. authorities have reassured Italy that its banks are not
at risk of fines for breaching sanctions against Moscow if they
help a Lukoil-owned refinery LKOH.MM buy non-Russian oil,
Italian Industry Minister Adolfo Urso said on Saturday.
Urso said the refinery might go under "temporary" government
control while Lukoil continues talks on selling the asset,
adding that state-controlled Eni ENI.MI could be asked to
support the trusteeship.
Italy's regulated household gas prices for November
consumption will rise by 13.7% compared with the previous month,
energy authority ARERA said on Friday, sparking concern from
consumer groups.

UNICREDIT CRDI.MI
UniCredit will reassess the remuneration of CEO Andrea Orcel
ahead of its 2023 general meeting to see if results reached by
Italy's second-biggest bank in 2021-2022 warrant an increase, a
document on its website shows.
SAIPEM SPMI.MI
The S&P rating agency on Friday upgraded the Italian energy
contractor to 'BB+', outlook stable.
TELECOM ITALIA (TIM) TLIT.MI
The telecoms group should remain for now "a unified
company," cabinet undersecretary Alessio Butti said in an
interview with Milano Finanza published on Saturday, possibly
halting plans to spin off TIM's fixed network assets.
M&A, ITA AIRWAYS
The state-owned successor to Alitalia said on Saturday that
it was continuing "positive and constructive" talks with
Lufthansa LHAG.DE , adding that the Italian economy ministry
had identified the German carrier as a "possible ally".
The La Stampa newspaper reported on the same day that
Lufthansa is offering 250 million euros for a 51% share of ITA,
down from January when Lufthansa and former buyout partner MSC
valued the whole airline at just under 1.5 billion euros.
La Repubblica reported on Sunday that the Italian government
wants to sign a memorandum of understanding for the sale of a
majority stake to Lufthansa by next January, and close the deal
by June.

The Serie A club published revised draft financial
statements on Friday, showing a loss of 239.3 million euros for
the financial year ending on June 30, 2022, and a loss of 226.8
million euros for the financial year ending on June 30, 2021.
