Extreme Networks appoints new CFO, shares rise

** Shares of network equipment firm Extreme Networks Inc
 EXTR.O  rise as much as 3.3% to $16.22
    ** Co appoints Kevin Rhodes as CFO, effective May 30
    ** Rhodes most recently served as CFO at Duck Creek
Technologies, a private global vertical software-as-a-service
(SaaS) provider
    ** Rhodes played a significant role in leading the company
to a $2.6 bln take-private deal with Vista Equity Partners 
    ** Extreme's former CFO Rémi Thomas stepped down from his
role in January, to pursue another opportunity at a privately
held software company
    ** Stock has fallen 11.7% in 2023
