U.S. stocks were subdued on Friday in a shortened trading session for
Thanksgiving, while investors focused on retailers to assess consumer health as
Black Friday sales kicked off amid signs of slowing economic conditions. .N 
    At 10:25 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.31% at
35,382.33. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.02% at 4,555.83 and the Nasdaq
Composite  .IXIC  was down 0.24% at 14,231.885.
