The following factors could affect Italian markets on Wednesday.

    ISTAT releases January industry sales data (0800 GMT) and
February producer prices data (0900 GMT).
    
    DEBT
    Treasury sells  2.5-3.0 billion euros 1.10% BTP bonds due
April 1, 2027 and 3.0-3.5 billion euros 0,95% BTP bonds due June
1, 2032. Subscriptions close at 0900 GMT.

    TELECOM ITALIA  TLIT.MI 
    Telecom Italia (TIM) has asked KKR  KKR.N  to clarify by
Monday whether the 10.8 billion euro ($12 billion) price the
U.S. fund indicated in its takeover approach for Italy's biggest
phone group is still valid, two sources close to the matter

    The board of Telecom Italia (TIM) on Tuesday was informed
about a proposal from CVC for a stake in its enterprise services
business and its directors were also briefed on discussions with

    Board member Luca de Meo, who stepped down from the
company's nomination committee on Tuesday, might leave TIM's
board after April 7 AGM because of other work commitments, a
source familiar with the matter said. The future of TIM Chairman

    Italy will honour a pledge to NATO to raise defence spending
to 2% of GDP, the office of Prime Minister Mario Draghi said on

    Two investors in Generali said on Tuesday they had dissolved
a pact they had struck last year to challenge the Italian
insurer's top shareholder Mediobanca  MDBI.MI  over the renewal

    Italy's Generali investor Caltagirone said on Tuesday it

    Deutsche Bank has given mandate to book-runners to sell up
to 0.27% in the group, or 3.48 million shares, a source close to
the matter said on Tuesday. 
    Proceeds from the sale of the 0.27% stake were equal to 38.3
