Fennec Pharma rises on European regulator's nod for hearing loss therapy

** Shares of Fennec Pharmaceuticals Inc  FENC.O  up 3.8% at
$8.7
    ** European Commission grants marketing authorization to
co's hearing loss therapy, pedmarqsi, making it the first and
only treatment approved in the EU 
    ** The therapy, approved as Pedmark in the U.S. last year,
prevents hearing loss in children aged over one month induced by
chemotherapy using the drug cisplatin 
    ** The marketing nod followed a positive opinion by the
Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) earlier
this year 
    ** Including session gains, stock fell 9.90% YTD
