** Shares of Ukraine-focused miner Ferrexpo FXPO.L rise as much as 16.4% to 72.3p, stock among top gainers on the FTSE mid-cap index .FTMC

** Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy called on Russia for an unconditional ceasefire of at least 30 days starting May 12

** Russian President Vladimir Putin asked for direct talks with Kyiv starting on Thursday, May 15 in Turkey

** Ferrexpo's operating base is in Central Ukraine, with three iron-ore mines and an iron ore pallet production facility

** FXPO stock has fallen ~41.3% so far this year
