UK Stocks-Factors to watch on March 25

March 25 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening higher on Wednesday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.62%.

* RIO TINTO: Rio Tinto RIO.L, RIO.AX expects to open Arizona's Resolution Copper mine by the mid-2030s, a senior executive said. Meanwhile, Australia on Wednesday unveiled A$2 billion ($1.40 billion) in support over 10 years for Rio Tinto's Boyne Smelters to stay open.

* CAPRICORN ENERGY: The oil producer CNE.L confirmed on Tuesday that it had received multiple proposals from Dragon Oil for the potential acquisition of its Western Desert assets.

* BP: Australia on Wednesday introduced legislation to double penalties for fuel price gouging following an investigation into alleged anti-competitive conduct by major fuel suppliers including BP BP.L, after Iran war-related global supply disruptions triggered fuel shortages in some rural regions.

* BT: BT-owned BT.L network operator Openreach has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to use artificial intelligence to speed up fibre broadband construction and cut emissions from one of Britain's largest commercial vehicle fleets.

* INFLATION: Inflation expectations among the British public have surged in March, according to a survey.

* CONSUMER SENTIMENT: British consumer sentiment this month was slightly weaker than three months earlier, pushed down by worries about grocery and energy costs linked to the conflict in the Middle East, according to a survey from KPMG.

* COMMODITIES: Oil prices fell around 4% on Wednesday, while gold rose more than 2%, and copper prices rebounded.

* FTSE: The FTSE 100 closed higher on Tuesday, lifted by energy stocks as investors weighed mixed signals from the Middle East conflict.
