The following factors could affect Italian markets on Monday.

    POLITICS
    On Saturday the leader of the far-right Brothers of Italy
party, Giorgia Meloni, reassured that a possible future right
and centre-right government would not pose a threat to Italy, in
an interview with La Stampa. 
    Enrico Letta, head of the Democratic Party (PD) on Sunday
told la Repubblica his group would present "an open and
expansive" list of candidates at the upcoming elections and that
the environment would be the key issue in the agenda. He added
the party would talk to all those interested but there were no
chances of an alliance with the 5-Star Movement.      
    In a separate interview on Sunday, with La Stampa, Giuseppe
Conte, leader of the 5-Star, said a "self-referenced government
(like Draghi's) was bound to short-circuit", dismissing it was
his party's fault if the executive collapsed.   

    ECONOMY
    In an interview with La Stampa on Sunday, 5-Star leader
Giuseppe Conte said the new government would need to draw up a
"politically brave" budget law and that, should it be
responsibility of the 5-Star to do so, the party would consider
all options, including hiking the deficit target to raise funds.
    The European Union is seeking additional gas supplies from
Nigeria as the bloc prepares for potential Russian supply cuts,
Matthew Baldwin, deputy director general of the European

    DEBT
    Treasury announces sale of BTP and CCTeu bonds, with
relative amounts to be auctioned on July 28.
    Italy's Treasury said on Friday it would offer 6 billion

    The lender's seventh capital raising in 14 years was always
going to be a hard sell, now Italy's political crisis risks

    SAIPEM  SPMI.MI 
    As a result of the energy services firm's cash call, Intesa
Sanpaolo  ISP.MI  holds a 3.423% stake, while Marathon Asset
Management has cut its holding to 0.054% from 5.177%, a market

    ENI  ENI.MI 
    The energy group said on Friday, in a note published on 
Italy's state-owned energy exchange (GME), that its gas supply
requests to Gazprom  GAZP.MM  had been partially confirmed for
Saturday and that it expected these partial supplies to last

    UNICREDIT  CRDI.MI  
    After the second quarter of 2020, "the bank's Italian
network has consistently shown an upward trend in terms of
performance," Remo Taricano, the bank's new Deputy Head of
Italy, told Milano Finanza in an interview. Taricano added that
for the time being, the bank's loan portfolio was not showing
any sign of deterioration. 
    
    INTESA SANPAOLO  ISP.MI 
    Fondazione Cariplo, which recently raised its stake in the
lender from 3.9% to 4.8%, intends to increase its shareholding
further, yet staying below a threshold set in a pact between the
Economy Ministry and association Acri, the Chairman of the
banking foundation said in an interview with Corriere della Sera
on Sunday, adding that his group fully supported Intesa's
governance and management. Giovanni Fosti said the foundation
was a long-term investor in Intesa and would not interfere in
the bank's management.  
    
    BANCO BPM  BAMI.MI 
    The lender on Friday acquired full ownership of its life
insurance partnership with France's Covea, Bipiemme Vita, for

    FILA  FILA.MI  
    The drawing instruments group has finalised a 425 million
euro multi-borrower loan with BNP Paribas  BNPP.PA , Intesa
Sanpaolo  ISP.MI , Unicredit  CRDI.MI , Banco BPM  BAMI.MI  and
Mediobanca  MDBI.MI , Il Messaggero reported on Saturday, adding
that 411 million euros would be used to refinance the company.  
    
    A.S. ROMA  ASR.MI  
    Romulus and Remus Investments has reached a 95% stake in the
club at the end of the takeover bid it had launched, the
investment company of U.S. billionaire Dan Friedkin said in a
statement on Friday, and can now press on with its goal of a 
delisting, expected between end-August and the beginning of
September.     
    
    FERRARI  RACE.MI 
    Red Bull's Max Verstappen won the French Grand Prix on
Sunday and took a huge stride towards his second Formula One
title after Ferrari's Charles Leclerc made a costly mistake and
