    POLITICS
    Italy's cabinet on Thursday approved a justice reform aimed
at strengthening the rights of defendants, measures long
advocated by former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi who died
this week after years of legal battles with prosecutors.
    
    Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met with Tesla CEO
Elon Musk in Rome later on Thursday after holding brief talks
with Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani in the morning.
    Talks between Meloni and Musk focused on the low birth rate
in Italy, the issue of deregulation in the European Union and
the risks related to the use of artificial intelligence.
    
    
    ECONOMY
    ISTAT releases May CPI final data (0800 GMT) and April
foreign trade data (0900 GMT).
    
    
    COMPANIES   
    PIRELLI  PIRC.MI  
    Pirelli's CEO said in a recent private meeting that he is
"very confident" Rome will use its Golden Power to curb Chinese
influence over the Italian tyremaker, deemed a strategic asset,
a person with knowledge of the matter said.
    
    INTESA SANPAOLO  ISP.MI  
    Italy's biggest bank, on Thursday launched a new digital
lender dubbed Isybank as it strives to upgrade the technology
underpinning its business and cut costs.
    
    MFE MEDIAFOREUROPE  MFEB.MI 
    Italy’s top commercial broadcaster MFE-MediaForEurope
 MFEB.MI  has placed a bid to buy the rights to screen Serie A’s
Saturday night soccer matches from the 2024/25 season, two
sources familiar with the matter told Reuters. MFE and Serie A
declined to comment.
    
    IREN  IREE.MI 
    The regional utility said on Thursday it had made a
non-binding and non-exclusive offer for some of the activities
of smaller rival Egea.
    
    A2A  A2.MI 
    The utility said on Thursday it had approved one or more
bonds issues by April 30, 2026 for up to an overall 1.65 billion
euros.

    First of two-day suspension from negotiation on Euronext
Growth Milan ahead of de-listing on June 20.
