The benchmark S&P 500 rose to a near all-time high on Thursday, as investors
assessed a mixed bag of corporate earnings and comments from President Donald
Trump that offered little clarity on his highly anticipated trade policies.  .N 
    
At  13:30 EST, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.79% at
44,506.99. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.25% at 6,101.44, and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was down 0.17% at 19,974.91.
