Wall Street's main indexes slipped on Friday following the S&P 500 and the
Nasdaq's six-day winning streaks after a spate of encouraging economic data
allayed recession worries, while weak housing data dampened sentiment.  .N 
    
    At 11:43 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.02% at
40,571.55. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.01% at 5,543.54 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 0.03% at 17,600.318.
