SINGAPORE, Sept 22 (Reuters) - Taiwan's Formosa Petrochemical Corp 6505.TW reduced crude processing volume at its refinery after two secondary units were shut for maintenance, a company spokesperson said on Monday.
The refinery started maintenance at its No.2 residue hydrodesulphurisation unit on September 16 and it is expected to last until October 26. Maintenance at its No.2 residual fluid catalytic cracking unit is underway from September 9 to November 3, spokesperson KY Lin said.
As a result, the company reduced crude processing to 360,000 barrels per day (bpd), from 500,000 bpd, he said.
Formosa operates a 540,000 bpd refinery complex at Mailiao.
