Wall Street's main indexes gained on Monday, following signs of progress in Washington to end a record government shutdown that has stalled economic data releases and intensified concerns over the state of the economy. .N

At  13:30 EST, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was up 0.54% at 47,242.64.The S&P 500 .SPX was up 1.28% at 6,814.78, and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was up 1.98% at 23,461.73.
