TOP 5 LIST OF GLOBAL INNOVATIVE RETAILERS
 
Head of Elevation Michael Murray today praised staff at Sports Direct after the company was ranked ahead of Apple and John Lewis in an index of the world's most innovative retailers.
 
Sports Direct was listed at No4 on the Internationalisation Retail Index, produced by Loqate in partnership with Planet Retail RNG and Retail Week Connect.
 
Amazon was ranked at No1, Apple was listed at No5, and John Lewis was No11.
 
Michael Murray said: "I'm pleased that Sports Direct is starting to be mentioned in the same breath as other great companies like Apple and John Lewis. It's a huge accolade for all our people, whom I'd like to thank for their loyalty and hard work.
 
"This index shows that our elevation strategy, along with our approach to innovative initiatives such as our strategic investments and partnerships, is continuing to gain traction."
 
The publication of The Internationalisation Index comes after an announcement in April by the Reputation Institute, which named Sports Direct among the ten UK companies with the biggest reputation improvements.
