Adds details throughout

Dec 15 (Reuters) - Frontier Group Holdings ULCC.O, parent company of Frontier Airlines, on Monday announced the departure of longtime CEO Barry Biffle and named insider James Dempsey, as interim CEO with immediate effect.

Biffle, who served as the chief executive since March 2016, will remain with the company in an advisory position until December 31, Frontier said.

Dempsey, who has been the company's president since October 2023, oversaw Frontier's commercial operations, customer care, and its operations research, design and planning functions.

He joined Frontier as CFO in 2014, prior to which he held senior management roles at Ryanair Holdings and various management roles with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

"We believe (Dempsey) is uniquely qualified to guide our airline into the future," Board Chair Bill Franke said.

Frontier also said it expects fourth-quarter results to be in-line with its previously issued forecast.

The company had forecast fourth-quarter adjusted profit between 4 cents and 20 cents per share. It also expects fourth-quarter capacity growth to be flat compared with last year.
