** Shares of GAIL (India) GAIL.NS rise 2.9% to 178.95 rupees

** Nomura assumes GAIL coverage with 'buy' rating, 225 rupees PT

** GAIL submitted request to increase pipeline tariffs by ~33% to 78 rupees per mmbtu to regulator Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board -- Nomura

** Brokerage expects pipeline tariff to increase around 19.5% to 70 rupees per mmbtu, applicable from April 2026

** Says tariff hike above 20% could be a positive surprise for earnings; sees recovery in petchem segment from fiscal year 2027

** Analysts on average have "buy' rating on GAIL with mean price target of 211.77 rupees, as per data compiled by LSEG

** GAIL down ~6% YTD
