Brief: Gas Plus updates on three exploration blocks in Romania

Aug 1 (Reuters) - Gas Plus SpA GSP.MI :
* Said on Friday it updates on the activities in the
offshore exploration blocks Midia Deep, Midia Shallow and
Pelican in Romania
* For Midia Deep, based on the results of geoscience and
technical evaluation of the data, titleholders have decided not
to enter the next exploration phase of the license
* As to the offshore license in shallow water Midia Shallow
and Pelican, further exploration activities have been planned to
evaluate the additional potential of the area
* Mineral resources already discovered in the offshore
licenses in shallow water have been evaluated by an independent
expert in about 1.4 billion of cubic meters as to Gas Plus
interest
* Gas Plus holds 15 percent stakes in all of the three
exploration projects
