** "Timing is everything when it comes to investing in the
professional recruiters," Liberum says on the sector where share
prices have been hit hard while skills shortages become more
acute
** The brokerage foresees at least another quarter of
positive news flow from recruiters, while the earnings risk
beyond that is already priced in, presenting an investment
opportunity
** Liberum flags "a profound mismatch" between education and
the skills for the most in-demand roles in disruptive sectors
such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)
** "STEM jobs are expected to grow faster than the broader
market, but educational institutions in the US and Europe are
not evolving quickly enough," it says, seeing "no quick fix" for
this
** According to American staffing firm Manpower, 31% of
employers reported talent shortages in 2010 globally, rising to
58% in 2019 and to 75% in 2022, Liberum notes, with
computer-based jobs on top of the list
** The brokerage also points to estimates which suggest that
65% of children in elementary school today will end up working
in job types that do not currently exist
** Liberum upgrades British recruitment agency Hays HAYS.L
to "buy" from "hold", as its strategy is clear and credible and
its balance sheet allows for meaningful cash returns, it says
