EUROPEAN STOCKS NEAR UNCHANGED
Major European equity indexes are hovering close to the unchanged mark on Wednesday as the bond selloff that took long-end yields to multi-year highs eased.
The STOXX 600 .STOXX is flat at 651.95 points, just below its record of 663.41 hit earlier this month. Breadth is a touch negative with decliners outnumbering advancers by about 1.3 to 1.
Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE and Germany's DAX .GDAXI are both also close to unchanged. France's CAC 40 .FCHI outperforms, up 0.3%.
Bank shares .SX7P are falling for a third day, down 0.6%, while construction stocks .SXOP lead, helped by a 7% gain in plumbing materials supplier Geberit GEBN.S after its results.
