Genprex rises as diabetes therapy shows promise in animal study

** Shares of drug developer Genprex Inc  GNPX.O  rise 4.9%
to $1.72 premarket
    ** Company says its experimental gene therapy to treat Type
1 diabetes showed statistically significant results in a
preclinical study conducted in non-human primates 
    ** The drug candidate reduced insulin requirements and
showed improvements in glucose tolerance compared to baseline
-GNPX 
    ** The gene therapy uses a virus as vector to deliver Pdx1
and MafA genes, which are responsible for insulin production,
directly to the pancreas - GNPX
    ** As of last close, stock has fallen ~23.4% in the past 12
months
