GeoVax rises after receiving US patent for HIV vaccine

** Shares of drug developer GeoVax Labs  GOVX.O  rise 3.4%
to 55 cents
    ** Co says the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued a
patent for its HIV vaccine
    ** GOVX CEO says co's vaccine candidate contributed to the
positive findings from a clinical study done earlier this year
    ** HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a virus that
attacks the body's immune system
    ** Including session moves, shares down 9% YTD
