** Shares of GIC Housing Finance  GICH.NS  rise as much as
5.07% to 149.25 Indian rupees, highest since Sept. 12
    ** Co late on Monday reported a 24.5% y/y rise in Sept-qtr
profit of 563.1 mln rupees ($6.94 mln) 
    ** Housing finance provider's total expenses fell 14% to 2.1
bln rupees from a year ago
    ** More than 516,000 shares traded, 5.3x times their 30-day
moving avg. of 97,799
    ** Up to last close, stock down was 5.36% YTD,
underperforming the Nifty Financial Services index which rose
9.5%
