Italy - Factors to watch on Oct. 24

The following factors could affect Italian markets on Tuesday.

    POLITICS, ENERGY
    Italy's government on Monday failed to adopt a decree aimed
at boosting energy security due to coalition disagreements, two
officials said.
    The stalled legislation includes measures that would help
utilities including Enel  ENEI.MI , A2A  A2.MI  and Edison
 EDNn.MI  modernise their hydropower stations.
    It would also boost offshore drilling in the Adriatic Sea,
provide funds for a floating wind power hub, and allow the
government to speed up work on two LNG terminals promoted by Eni
and Iren  IREE.MI . 
    
    DEBT
    Italy's Treasury said on Monday it would offer 3 billion
euros ($3.20 billion) in 6-month BOT bills at an auction on Oct.
26. 
 
    COMPANIES

    Releases Q3 results (before Bourse opening), followed by
conference calls with the press (0530 GMT) and with analysts
(0800 GMT).
    
    SNAM  SRG.MI , ENI  ENI.MI  
    A Snam-Eni carbon capture and storage (CCS) project in
Italy's Ravenna can help decarbonise emission-heavy industries
both in Italy and southern Europe, Snam CEO Stefano Venier said
on Monday.
    
    STELLANTIS  STLAM.MI  
    The United Auto Workers (UAW) union in the U.S. went on
strike at Chrysler-parent Stellantis' largest assembly plant on
Monday, hitting the automaker's profitable RAM 1500 pickup truck
production in a major expansion of the more than month-old
strike.
    
    ZEGNA GROUP  ZGN.N 
    Releases Q3 results (1030 GMT), followed by conference call
(1200 GMT).
    
    JUVENTUS  JUVE.MI 
    The Italian Serie A soccer team said on Monday it had
started talks with banks to form a syndicate for its planned
cash call of up to 200 million euros, expected to be executed in
the first four months of 2024.
    It added that its board would request controlling
shareholder Exor  EXOR.AS  to anticipate an initial payment of
80 million euros to support the club pending the capital
increase deal execution.
