   - Canadian apparel maker Gildan Activewear's  GIL.TO  chief
executive Vince Tyra said the company will push further into
overseas markets and strengthen its main brands as it sets up
its next leg of growth.
    
   - Canada's federal government will make tax changes in
Tuesday's budget aimed at raising more revenue from wealthy
Canadians and certain corporations. 
  
   - Private equity fund manager Birch Hill recently hired U.S.
investment bank Robert W. Baird & Co to run the potential sale
of CCM Hockey, the maker of the sticks used by National Hockey
League players.
