       Jan 13 (Reuters) - The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq pared
losses on Friday on the back of easing inflation expectations
and better-than-feared results from some U.S. banks, while gains
in UnitedHealth kept the Dow afloat.  .N 
    At 1341 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up
0.07% at 34,212.87. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.04% at 3,984.76
and the Nasdaq Composite  .IXIC  was up 0.28% at 11,032.056.
