Gritstone jumps on Moderna's cancer vaccine success, new patents

    ** Shares of vaccine developer Gritstone bio Inc  GRTS.O 
jump 19.1% to $3.08, among top pct gainers across U.S. exchanges
    ** Moderna Inc's  MRNA.O  experimental mRNA cancer vaccine,
along with Merck & Co Inc's  MRK.N  immunotherapy Keytruda, cut
the risk of skin cancer's recurrence or death by 44% in a trial
    ** GRTS is also developing an mRNA vaccine for patients with
advanced solid tumors 
    ** Separately, Gritstone says the United States Patent and
Trademark Office issued two new patents related to company's
self-amplifying mRNA vaccine platform technology
    ** Self-amplifying mRNA replicates once in the cell,
creating copies of the original strand of RNA, unlike
traditional mRNA
    ** Despite session's gain, stock down ~75% YTD
