Wall Street's main stock indexes extended their gains in choppy trading on
Monday after clocking their best week of the year, while investors looked ahead
to Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell's speech at Jackson Hole for rate-cut
indications.  .N 
    
    At 11:39 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.48% at
40,855.02. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.42% at 5,577.76 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 0.40% at 17,702.387.
