** Shares of Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd GMDC.NS rise as much as 4.6%

** Mining co reported a 20.8% y/y rise in Q4 consol profit to 2.26 bln rupees ($26.4 mln); rev grew 4.8%

** Bigger segment mining's rev up 4.7% y/y

** Stock on track to snap 3 weeks of losses; gained 8.3% so far this week

** More than 2.5 mln shares traded as of 2:27 p.m. IST, against their 30-day moving avg of above 1.6 mln shares

** GMDC last up 3.1%, cutting YTD losses to 0.8%
