** Shares of British bicycle and car products retailer Halfords Group HFD.L jump 12% to 139.2p; top gainer on FTSE small cap index .FTSC

** HFD expects annual pretax profit to be at upper end of 32 mln pounds to 37 mln pounds ($42.25 mln to $48.85 mln) range it had forecast earlier

** Expects to be able to mitigate entirety of direct inflationary impact of autumn budget in FY26

** Says indirect impact on co's supply chain remains to be seen

** In a separate announcement, names Henry Birch as new CEO, replacing Graham Stapleton

** As of last close, stock down ~5.19% YTD
