BERLIN, Oct 27 (Reuters) - Diversification is necessary
to ensure that Europe does not become too economically dependent
on any one nation, said German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on
Thursday.
"This means that overall in Europe, there are business
decisions being made that definitely lead to them being in a
situation where there will always be multiple options in supply
chains to be able to obtain their wares," Scholz said in Athens,
adding that some did not always keep this in mind.
Scholz also defended the German government's decision to
allow China's Cosco to take a 24.9% stake in a terminal in
Germany's largest port.
