HHLA warns of critical Red Sea security impact on supply chains

BERLIN, May 15 (Reuters) - German port operator HHLA said on Thursday that the security situation in the Red Sea was critical, with the Ukraine war and Middle East tensions already hitting supply chains.

U.S. trade policy was adding further pressure on the global logistics system, HHLA said. While transport volumes from the U.S. significantly increased in 2024, first-quarter figures remained subdued.
