Appointment of Group Chief Financial Officer
TLA Worldwide plc (AIM: TLA), a leading athlete representation and sports marketing business,is pleased to announce that it has appointed Mr. Richard Shamsi as Group Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Shamsi will join the Group's Board and become Group CFO on 2 January 2018. 
Mr. Shamsi (aged 49) has held senior finance roles for more than 15 years and has considerable experience in both the media and agency spaces, particularly working for UK based companies with extensive US operations. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer of AKQA, a wholly-owned operating company of WPP PLC and a leading full service digital agency where he was heavily involved in improving the operating and financial performance of the business. Prior to this, Mr. Shamsi was the CFO of Weve Limited, a market-leading mobile media, data analytics, consultancy and technology solutions business, which was established as a joint venture between O2, Vodafone and EE. Mr. Shamsi was instrumental in improving the financial controls and monitoring process for Weve and overseeing O2's buyout from Vodafone and EE in 2015.
In addition, Mr. Shamsi spent ten years at the Daily Mail and General Trust plc from 2004 to 2014, where he was CFO/COO of B2B Information, Daily Mail Ecommerce, the Digital Property Group, as well as Group Finance Director at Associated Northcliffe Digital Group. Mr. Shamsi has also held senior finance positions in a number of other companies, including EMAP plc, Ionica plc and Electrocomponents plc.
