ATHENS, Dec 14 (Reuters) - Greece's biggest telecoms
operator OTE Telecom OTEr.AT said on Thursday that its
chairman and chief executive Michael Tsamaz will step down once
his contract expires at the end of June 2024.
Tsamaz has been at the helm of OTE since 2010. During his
term, OTE, which is 50% owned by Deutsche Telekom DTEGn.DE ,
has invested heavily in new generation networks, helping Greece
digitise its economy.
OTE's board of directors has decided to propose to
shareholders that Kostas Nebis replace Tsamaz, the company said.
Nebis is currently chief executive of Croatia's Hrvatski
Telekom, which is also majority owned by Deutsche Telekom. Nebis
has worked for more than 20 years in the telecoms industry,
including a previous stint at OTE.
