** Shares in Swiss insurer Baloise BALN.S rise about 4% after the company reported higher-than-expected H1 net profit growth
** The boost comes especially from the non-life insurance business, Zuercher Kantonalbank says
** Baloise reports H1 non-life gross premiums reaching CHF 2.73 billion ($3.43 billion)
** Vontobel also points to an attractive combined ratio of 90.6%, adding there are also first signs of improvement in asset management and banking
** Vontobel nevertheless remarks a significant volume decline in life insurance and declining new business margin
** Shares in Helvetia HELN.S, with which Baloise is set to merge this year, gain 3.8%
