they think further policy tightening will be needed to tame stubbornly high
inflation but still believe they can achieve that without triggering outright
recessions. Speaking on a panel with the leaders of the ECB, Bank of Japan and
the Bank of England at the European Central Bank's conference in Portugal,
U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell kept consecutive interest rate
hikes on the table.
