U.S. stock index futures struggled for direction on Friday after
hotter-than-expected inflation data roiled rate-sensitive stocks in the previous
session, leaving investors on edge ahead of the Federal Reserve's meeting next
week.  .N 
    
    At 9:07 ET, Dow e-minis  1YMc1  were up 0.14% at 38,969. S&P 500 e-minis
 ESc1  were down 0.01% at 5,153.25, while Nasdaq 100 e-minis  NQc1  were down
0.20% at 17,988.5.
