** Aluminium and copper producer also on track for best day since Aug 13

** Global metal prices rise as Trump-Xi meeting confirmed

** LME aluminium CMAL3 climbs as much as 1.8% to $2,856, highest level since May 31, 2022; last down 0.54%

** LME copper down 0.47%, set for nearly 2% weekly gain; YTD advance at 23%

** Separately, subsidiary Novelis says fire-damaged plant in Oswego will restart by December-end, earlier than expected
