India's March 1-15 LPG sales decline, preliminary data shows

NEW DELHI, March 16 (Reuters) - Indian state fuel retailers sold about 1.15 million metric ton of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the first half of March, a decline of 17.3% from a year earlier and 26.3% from the same period in the previous month, preliminary sales data show. India, which relies heavily on the Middle East for meeting its LPG consumption, is reeling under its worst LPG crisis in decades, with the government cutting supplies for industries to shield households from any shortage of cooking gas.
