Directors' Remuneration Report - Correction
Further to the publication of the 2016 Annual Report and Accounts (the "Accounts") for Howden Joinery Group plc (the "Company") on 22 March 2017, the Company advises that there is an error on page 74 of the Accounts in the second table on that page, which sets out the rate of the Chairman's and Non-Executive Directors' fees for 2016 and 2017.
The table states that the Chairman's fee for 2016 was 225,000 and that this represents an 18% increase from 2015. In fact the Chairman's fee for 2016 was 230,000, which represented a 21% increase from 2015. This figure represents the total fee for the Chairman role in the year and comprises a pro-rated amount based on 4 months of 190,000 per annum and 8 months of 250,000 per annum. The table also states that the Chairman's fee for 2017 will be 225,000 and that this represents a 0% increase from 2016. In fact the Chairman's fee for 2017 will be 250,000, which represents a 9% increase from 2016.
The information contained in the first table on page 74 of the Accounts (which is audited) setting out the actual fees paid to our current and former Chairmen is correct. There is no impact on the Company's profit, balance sheet, earnings per share or other financial information in the Accounts.
